Automobile Licensing Information |
| 1. New residents to North Carolina must obtain a state drivers license within 30 days. |
| 2. You must bring your out of state drivers license and proof of insurance to a testing station where you must pass a written road sign test and eye exam. |
| 3. Residents moving from another part of North Carolina must report their change of address within 60 days. |
Motor Vehicle Registration |
| New residents must obtain a North Carolina vehicle title when you register your vehicle for a license plate. To get your NC title and tag you must show proof of title, proof of insurance from a North Carolina authorized agency, as well as name and address of all lien holders. The person whose name appears on the title must be present to sign the necessary documents. |
